Although US President Donald Trump is constitutionally prohibited from seeking a third term, his online store has begun selling products under the slogan “Trump 2028,” indicating that the 78-year-old Republican could run again in the next US presidential election.
The Trump family-run store sells red ball caps for Trump 2028, written on the front desk for $50 (approximately 4,300 Rs.); The product description reads, “This is what we’re saying and make a statement with the US Trump 2028 hat.”
Besides this, the store sells Navy blue and red T-shirts for $36 (approximately Rs 3,100).
The sale came shortly after Trump, who returned to power in January and served as president from 2017 to 2021.
In an interview with NBC News, he said many people are encouraging him to run in the third term.
“A lot of people want to do that to me, but I basically tell them we have a long way to go, that’s a very early stage in the administration,” Trump said.
Republicans said there is a way that could be done, suggesting that Vice President JD Vance could run for president and hand over his role to Trump in some way.
He also said there are other ways to do this, but refused to elaborate.
The 22nd amendment to the US Constitution states that “will not be elected to the President’s Office more than twice.”
Trump also said he wants to oppose former President Barack Obama, who served two terms. “It’s going to be good, I want it.”
The polls reflect US concerns over Trump’s major issues in the first 100 days of his second term, including cost of living and chaotic tariff policies.
