Donald Trump wins North Carolina, kneecapping Kamala’s path to the White House

President Donald Trump once again won North Carolina, taking 16 electoral votes from the key battleground state.

At approximately 9:22 p.m. ET, Decision Desk Headquarters called The Tar Heel State for Trump. The Associated Press then reported around 11:20 p.m. ET. At the time of publication, Trump had a large lead, 50.8% to 48.1%, with 88% of votes counted.

The Green Party's Jill Stein and the Libertarian Party's Chase Oliver both received less than 0.5 percentage point.

Exit polls showed that men and women were predictably divided, with 57% of men voting for Trump and 56% of women voting for Kamala Harris. reported NBC News. Trump received about 61% of the white vote, 12% of the black vote, and 48% of the Hispanic vote.

Trump even made history. He won in Anson County, where the population is more than 44% black. Since the 1870s, Republicans have only won the county in a presidential election once.
