Rep. Byron Donald (R-Fla.) teased Friday, teasing that he could throw his hat into the ring and replace Gov. Ron Desantis (R).
“We'll see what happens,” he said to fellow guest pack Tara Palmeli on Friday evening, “real-time with Bill Maher,” when asked about the governor's race in 2026. He spoke.
A source close to Donald told Hill last month that close allies with President Trump approached Florida donors and made prominent political recruitment such as pollster Tony Fabrizio in 2016 and 2024.
Maher asked the two guests if they thought DeSantis' wife, Casey DeSantis, could run on her own. Palmeri immediately redirected the question to Donald.
“I mean, no one is in the race now,” replied Donald.
“Does that mean you might jump in there?” Maher asked.
Donald shrugged and told the HBO host to ask the reporter to the left.
Palmeri cited her sources and recent polls, citing Donald, Casey DeSantis and former MP Matt Gaetz (R-FLA.). It's a favorite of the fans of my work.
“We'll see what happens,” Donald repeated.
In January, Getz began to ponder the run for the governor, but sources suggested NBC News On Friday, Florida's first lady was seriously considering a bid.
DeSantis, who failed his 2024 presidential campaign against Trump, is a limited-time limited time and cannot seek re-election.
Earlier this year, GOP Governor will replace Senator Marco Rubio (R-FLA) in the Senate, later confirmed by the Secretary of State, before rumouring that he will replace former Senator Marco Rubio (R-FLA). I've brushed it off. DeSantis has appointed former Sunshine Attorney General Ashley Moody to fill in the seats instead.
