Donovan Mitchell is putting an end to rumors about his happiness in Cleveland.
All eyes of the NBA world are watching the situation in Cleveland following questions surrounding Mitchell’s future with the Cavaliers and reports of dissatisfaction among the Cavaliers’ star players.
However, Mitchell denied those reports Thursday in a post on X and a conversation with ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Later that day, Wojnarowski relayed his conversation with Mitchell to the nation during an appearance on “NBA Countdown.”
“He emphasized to me that he had no complaints about anyone or anything in Cleveland,” Wojnarowski said. “Actually, he said to me, ‘I’m happy in Cleveland. I’ve been happy ever since I got to Cleveland.'” And he said that this Cavs team has progressed this season, obviously in the seventh against the Magic. They believe they won in the first round of the main tournament and advanced to the conference semifinals for the first time since 2018. ”
In addition to Mitchell’s alleged displeasure with his teammates, reports also surfaced about his distrust of head coach JB Bickerstaff.
Mitchell is owed $35.4 million next season and has a player option for the 2025-26 season, making his future in Cleveland a focus of attention.
He is eligible to sign a contract extension this offseason, but if he doesn’t, the Cavaliers could face impending free agency next offseason.
