Kyle Gass, Jack Black’s partner in the band Tenacious D, made a poignant plea from the stage at a concert the weekend after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump: “Don’t miss Trump next time.”
During the band’s concert in Sydney, Australia, the video shows Black singing “Happy Birthday” to Gus onstage as Gus is presented with a birthday cake, after which Black tells Gus to “make a wish.”
In one video posted to X, Gass’ comment, “Just make sure you don’t miss Trump next time,” elicited a decidedly negative response.
Black’s bandmate waited a few seconds, then said, “Next time, make sure you don’t miss Trump,” before blowing out the candles. Black responded, “Thank you!”
