On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher defended Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, arguing that many are feeling the pressure. It’s a shitty factory like Harvard University. ”
Maher said, “He said, ‘Some of you,’ he said to the women, ‘some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world.’ ” Okay, that seems pretty modern. “But I’d venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you’re bringing into the world.” I don’t know what the big crime is. Hmm, I really don’t understand. And I think part of the problem with people on the left is that a lot of people in this country are like this. What he’s saying is that while some of you may go on to have successful careers, many of you are excited about doing things differently – like no one before. That was the case, and isn’t that also an option now? They feel like there’s a huge assumption that there’s only one way to be a good person, and that’s to get an advanced degree from a shitty factory like Harvard. ”
