Teddy Roosevelt’s Potential Hall of Fame Induction

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum recently mentioned at a Bank of America event that he believes President Teddy Roosevelt may be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame next year. According to him, Roger Goodell from the NFL visited the Oval Office, where they talked about the upcoming NFL Draft, which is set to take place on the National Mall in a year. The Capitol will be a backdrop for this event.

Burgum noted, “Keep it a secret, but I think Theodore Roosevelt’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame is going to happen. The announcement will be made on the Mall when Goodell conducts the draft.”

This idea seems to stem from Roosevelt’s historical involvement with football. He played a significant role in reforming the sport in the early 1900s, advocating for rule changes that ultimately helped make the game safer, including the introduction of forward passes and the banning of dangerous formations.

The upcoming Pro Football Hall of Fame class for 2027 is expected to feature renowned players like Rob Gronkowski, Adrian Peterson, and Ben Roethlisberger. Other notable names like Bill Belichick and Eli Manning are also in the mix, though they didn’t make the initial cut.
