Doug Emhoff, Carmelo Anthony watch USA basketball gold medal win

The celebrity row at the Belcy Arena could rival that at Madison Square Garden.

The second gentleman, Doug Emhoff, was in Paris to watch the U.S. team win the gold medal against France, and sat right next to French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte.

So did NBC host Jimmy Fallon, American sprinter Sha’Carey Richardson, 1992 Dream Team member Scottie Pippen, former Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, former French point guard Tony Parker and former Lakers star Pau Gasol.

Megan Rapinoe and fiancée Sue Bird managed to squeeze in a basketball game after watching the US Women’s Gold Medal win over Brazil earlier in the day.

The attendee list also included Stephon Marbury, who sat with Anthony and Pippen, and Rapinoe’s former U.S. women’s national team teammates Ali Krieger and Tobin Heath.

2024 Paris Olympics

The excitement of this final far surpassed that of previous gold medal games in which the United States was the overwhelming favorite to win.

This year’s Olympics was a very close contest, with the US team pushed to the limit by Serbia in the semi-finals and France competing in front of their home crowd in Paris, and the results were far from what you’d expect.

The U.S. led for much of the game, but France was trailing by just six points entering the fourth quarter.

But Stephen Curry took control from there, making eight three-pointers to win the gold medal.
