Former President Donald Trump’s new leadership team at the Republican National Committee began the process of ousting dozens of officials on Monday, a senior RNC official confirmed to Fox News.
Approximately 60 RNC employees working in the national party committee’s communications, data and political divisions have been asked to resign, including several senior officials, the people said.
The move came hours after the Trump campaign took operational control of the RNC on Monday.
This comes as the new leadership seeks to integrate parts of the RNC into Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

Whatley, a former RNC general counsel, selected him to take the helm of the national party committee after President Trump won the White House in 2016, replacing longtime chair Ronna McDaniel. . After lackluster fundraising last year and his opposition to the RNC’s presidential primary debates, McDaniel was effectively forced out.

President Trump also appointed campaign adviser Chris Lacivita as RNC chief of staff. LaCivita, a longtime Republican strategist and RNC veteran, will continue in his role as one of two top advisers leading Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
“The RNC today is not going to be the same next week. Obviously there will be changes,” Lacivita told reporters Friday. However, he did not go into details.

Friday’s RNC meeting came the same week that Trump won 14 of 15 Republican primaries and caucuses on Super Tuesday, moving him much closer to officially confirming the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

It also came just two days after President Trump’s last candidate, former United Nations ambassador and former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, withdrew from the race.
Trump is expected to formally finalize his nomination on Tuesday, with primaries and caucuses to be held in four more states.
