Dr. Jeffrey Epstein Responds to Controversy
Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, a neurosurgeon from Long Island, discussed his thoughts on Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) after she suggested he might be linked to sex trafficking. In an interview, he detailed how he plans to retaliate against the congresswoman for dragging his name through the mud.
Epstein mentioned, “I think we should give money to Jasmine Crockett and let everyone know she also received funding from Jeffrey Epstein.” This comment was in response to Crockett’s recent remarks on the House floor, where she revealed that someone named Jeffrey Epstein had supported the campaign of former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.).
The Texas Democratic Party hinted at the idea that donations to Zeldin from Epstein could be tainted, alleging they may have come from a convicted pedophile. However, it’s worth noting that the $1,000 contribution occurred months after Epstein the financier died in jail.
When asked about any past confusion regarding his name, Epstein remarked, “It was never an issue until she said something.” He acknowledged that people occasionally react when they hear his name.
“Sometimes people look at me when I say my name,” he confessed. He also added, “I always look at them and say, ‘I don’t understand,’ as if I’m stupid.” This illustrates how he grapples with others’ perceptions.
Expressing frustration about the ongoing discussions surrounding his name, Epstein stated, “Listen, that’s my name.” He added a hypothetical, noting, “If this came out and my name was Jeffrey Dahmer, do you think that would be a problem?” He emphasized that it’s never ideal to have a namesake associated with unwelcome notoriety.
Despite the controversy, he seems to dismiss the situation: “But that doesn’t matter to me.” The only real annoyance for him seems to be fielding questions about it. “Don’t take it the wrong way,” he said. “If you don’t get it, I don’t care one bit.”
