Drake Maye Shines in Patriots’ Victory Over Titans
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has given fans a reason to be optimistic during the early part of the 2025 season. His standout performance against the Tennessee Titans, where he completed 21 of 23 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, led the Patriots to a 31-13 win. Despite facing four sacks, he maintained control without any turnovers.
Following the game, it was announced that Maye achieved a remarkable feat, matching Tom Brady’s record. He tied for the most instances in a season—four games—where he passed for over 200 yards, recorded a passer rating of 135 or higher, and threw two touchdown passes. It’s notable that Maye reached this milestone in just his second year and 20 games. Brady, on the other hand, accomplished this during a much later stage in his career, specifically in 2007.
During the game, Maye efficiently connected with seven different receivers, including Stefon Diggs, who caught seven passes for 69 yards. Teammates Kashon Boot and Austin Hooper also contributed with touchdown receptions. This win improved New England’s record to 5-2, placing them just ahead of the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East standings.
On the flip side, the Titans faced a difficult transition, having just dismissed head coach Brian Callahan. They now sit at 1-6 for the season, a tough situation to navigate.
