Dramatic video shows harrowing moment truck crashed on bridge in Kentucky, left dangling off edge

Newly released dashcam footage shows the moment a semi-truck crashes into the rails of a Louisville, Kentucky, bridge in March, leaving it dangling over the bridge’s edge.

Louisville first responders were on scene at the Clark Memorial Bridge over the Ohio River after a semi-truck crashed through the bridge’s guardrail barrier and remained dangling over the bridge on March 1 at approximately 12:15 p.m. I rushed. The frightened driver went inside into the water.

Dramatic video then showed paramedics being lowered from a ladder onto a semi-truck and hoisting the driver, identified by police as 26-year-old Sidney Thomas, to safety.

A truck trailer belonging to a major food distribution company was seen wedged between the bridge beams, stopping it from falling into the water below. The hood of the truck was also open and could be seen hanging from the cab of the truck.

The driver of the pickup truck, 33-year-old Trevor Branham, was charged with four counts of endangerment and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, according to news outlet WHAS11.
