Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft Pics, has revealed which team he wants to play the most, but that's not one of the top three selected teams.

“It's a dream to play [the Saints]If there's one day a chance.” Ward told a New Orleans reporter after winning the All-State Sugar Bowl 2024 Manning Awardthis is given to the nation's best quarterback.

“It was a great meeting,” Ward said. “If he has the opportunity to play with a Super Bowl coach like coach Moore, he knows how to dial the playbook.”

Ward grew up in West Columbia, Texas, about 400 miles west of New Orleans, but he was grateful to see one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, and his top receiving target illuminated it with the saint.

“The Saints were one of my favorite teams,” Ward said. “When I was little, I loved watching Drew Breeze. [Marques] Colston is there. ”

He graduated from high school and played his first college season at Incarnate Words University, a Catholic university in San Antonio, which was a journey for Ward as he was graduating from high school.

He then redirected to Washington State before closing his career in Miami, solidifying himself as a potential top draft pick.

New Orleans will be the next stop on a ward journey, but he follows the saint's comments and says, “That's not my main focus for now.”

New Orleans, who is riding with Derek Kerr again this year, will surely be able to use potential franchise quarterbacks like Ward as the organization begins a new era under Moore.

However, the saints must provide serious capital to the top three teams.

Ward could be the first overall pick, but he's not worried about the status that comes with it.

“That means nothing to me. There's never a pick,” Ward said. “If someone wants to be known for their picks, they're not playing for the right reasons.”
