Drew Lock, like many of Manning's teammates before him, marveled at the numbers that defined Giants great Eli Manning's durability.
Lock made his fourth start of the season at quarterback against the Colts on Sunday.
Since benching and releasing Daniel Jones, the Giants have started (in order) Tommy DeVito, Lock twice, DeVito, and now Lock for two consecutive games.
During that time, DeVito dealt with a forearm injury and a concussion, while Lock dealt with elbow, heel, and shoulder injuries after receiving a hip pointer earlier in the season.
Yes, Manning once started 210 consecutive regular season games for the Giants (until he was benched for one game in 2017) and has never missed a game due to injury in his 16-year NFL career, which is pretty impressive. It's worth noting.
“That's a tough thing to do on any team, at any position, especially at the quarterback position,” Lock said. “He played a few extra games.” [playoff] We have games at the end of the year as well, so if you add those in there, that's great. ”

Lock said Monday's MRI on his throwing shoulder was done as a precaution.
“If I feel something in my right hand, my right shoulder, something, it's like, 'Hey, let's go get this looked at to make sure everything's okay,'” Lock said. “I've come back very well.”
Head coach Brian Daboll is sticking with Lock rather than turning to the less experienced DeVito for development status after he threw two pick-sixes against the Falcons.
“Try to go at the same pace and make the same play calls in the huddle for two weeks,” Daboll said.
C John Michael Schmitz is in a walking boot, meaning more changes to the offensive line could be in store.
If Schmitz is unable to play, the Giants could move past RG Greg Van Roten to bring in OG Aaron Stinney, but Stinney missed last week's game and has yet to clear concussion protocol.
Another option is to activate center fielder Austin Schlottmann from injured reserve.
Schlottmann broke his foot in the first practice after surviving cut day and spent six weeks getting around the facility on a scooter. He returned to practice on December 11th.
“It's been a long year,” Schlotman said. “So it would make sense for us to bounce back in a game or two and finish like that.”
Schlotman snapped at lock in the quarterback's NFL debut in 2019.
The Giants have their sights set on becoming the first team in the NFL to go 0-9 at home.
This became possible in the 17-game era (starting in 2021).
“You should avoid lowlights at all costs,” says OLB Kayvon Thibodeau. “This year did not go as planned, but I will continue to do my best and strive for victory.”
Sunday's game will be the Giants' last at MetLife Stadium before finishing the season in Philadelphia.
In addition to Schmitz, RB Tyrone Tracy Jr., WR Malik Nabors, CB Drew Phillips, LB Micah McFadden, CB Greg Stroman Jr., S Raheem Laine, and DT Corey Durden did not practice.
According to a reporter for The Athletic, Laine suffered a season-ending meniscus tear in his knee during his season debut. This was his first game since suffering a torn ACL last season.
