Driver crashes into parked truck in the Bronx, killing 2 passengers

A 24-year-old driver crashed into a parked truck in the Bronx early Sunday morning, killing his two passengers, police said.

The driver, who has not been identified, crashed his white Chrysler 300 into a large red truck parked near the intersection of Bryant and Viele streets around 3:28 a.m.

A 21-year-old man in the passenger seat and an unidentified woman in the back seat were rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where both succumbed to their injuries, New York City police said.

Another woman in the back seat was also injured and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, officials added.

The driver was taken to Harlem Hospital, where his condition was reported to be stable. According to police, the truck involved in the accident was unoccupied at the time of the accident.

Images of the aftermath show the Chrysler was completely destroyed in the crash, with visible damage to the truck's front hood and bumper.

No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate the crash to determine if the driver faces any charges.
