A wild woman and her dog are seen narrowly evading a suspect who crashed down a northeast Washington, D.C., sidewalk in an allegedly stolen car as he tried to flee from police, according to Fox 5. The video is showing.
Evelina Voronina told FOX 5 she was out doing some yard work on Saturday and had just let her 3-year-old dog Luna outside when she heard a loud commotion around the corner.
Around 10 a.m. that morning, someone reported a blue Hyundai Tucson stolen, according to a police report obtained by Fox 5.
Just before 4 p.m., a police officer patrolling the neighborhood spotted the stolen car and tried to stop it, but the driver fled.
The video shows Voronina turning around, grabbing the dog and running it up the front steps of the porch.
Just a few seconds later, a suspected stolen car comes speeding down the sidewalk and a police car gives chase.
Voronina said the experience was scary, but she was thankful that she and her dog were not hurt.
“Being angry and angry doesn’t really help the person. I’m sure they are also embarrassed about what happened,” Voronina said.

The stolen Hyundai was recovered after a lengthy manhunt, according to a police report.
Police said at least one suspect was arrested, but two others are believed to have fled.
