Incident at the White House Involving a Car Crash

A driver was arrested after crashing their vehicle into a barricade situated outside the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which is near the White House.

The Secret Service reported that the incident took place around 10:37 PM local time on Tuesday, although the crash itself occurred earlier at approximately 5 PM at the corner of 5th Street and E Street in Northwest Washington, D.C.

Following the collision, officials from the Secret Service and Washington Metropolitan Police evaluated the car and deemed it safe. A bomb-sniffing robot was seen inspecting the vehicle, which was later towed away from the scene.

“The investigation into the cause of this collision is ongoing,” the Secret Service stated.

Reports indicate that President Donald Trump was present in the White House during the incident. However, he has not made any public remarks regarding the crash.

The area was reportedly on lockdown following the event, though the White House itself was not in lockdown when the crash occurred. The location remained closed while the vehicle was removed.

Details regarding the suspect’s identity and motives have not yet been disclosed as authorities continue their investigation.

At approximately 10:37 PM, an individual drove a vehicle into the Secret Service vehicle gate at 17th and E Street in northwest Washington, D.C. The individual was arrested and the vehicle was inspected and confirmed to be safe. The cause of this collision is currently under investigation.
