Virginia Woman Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Case

A 32-year-old woman from Virginia was taken into custody on Friday in connection with the death of Hamptons real estate agent, Hamptons Hit and Dunn, who notably appeared on the Netflix series “Million Dollar Beach House.”

Amanda Kempton stands accused of fleeing the scene of the incident, according to statements from the Southampton Town Police Department.

This arrest followed a search for a driver who reportedly struck 40-year-old Sarah Black from Hampton Bays.

The well-known real estate agent was found unconscious early Thursday by police on the Montauk Highway near Villa Paul Restaurant, as indicated by law enforcement.

Details remain unclear regarding the vehicle involved in the accident.

Kempton was expected to be formally charged on Saturday.

Local news reports that both the police department and New York State Police’s accident reconstruction unit are examining the site.

Burack, who competed against other high-profile real estate agents on “Million Dollar Beach House” in 2022, had previously worked at a luxury real estate firm in Manhattan and the Hamptons but had left over a year ago. Known for her caring nature, she actively participated in fundraising efforts in New York City.

One friend expressed heartfelt memories, stating, “I want people to remember that she was a great person who really cared for people. She was a hardworking real estate agent and was very much loved by her friends and close family.”

Burack started her career in her family’s construction business before transitioning into the competitive luxury real estate industry. “I’ve always been intrigued by real estate projects,” she shared before becoming a broker.

Before the reality show premiered, Burack mentioned that “Million Dollar Beach House” would provide a glimpse into the affluent lifestyles of the Hamptons. She added that viewers would witness stunning homes, vibrant summer activities, and perhaps feel a sense of awe during scenes depicted in the show.
