Drowning of 3-year-old Zaire Alberick leaves mother hospitalized with grief

According to the tragic family, the 3-year-old, who was tragically drowned in a creek in Westchester, had just moved to the area with his mother.

Zaire Alberic wandered with his dog from his family's Mamalonek home around noon on Thursday, causing a desperate search by his grandfather and neighbors.

Police found the body of a toddler on the Mamalonec River about 20 minutes later. EMS declared that he had died on the scene.

Authorities believe he was drowned in the water about two blocks from his home, drowned and transported downstream to Hillside Avenue Bridge where he was found.

Zaire and his mother, Delily Doval, were with their family at the time, and the boy's aunt, Dennis Burns wrote: gofundme page Raise funds for the funeral.

Doval began working as a nursing assistant at the new Rochelle Nursing Facility, trying to find an apartment for her and her son.

Records show that Dorval, 27, 28, and Zanetti Alberick, 28, previously lived in Suffolk County.

The boy's fundraiser had raised more than $12,000 as of Saturday afternoon.
