A drunk driver who ran a red light and sped into another car in Wisconsin, killing five passengers, including four children, was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison. .
Anteyona Sandifer, 21, pleaded guilty in January to five counts of murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Milwaukee last May. Her prosecutors dropped six other felony charges against her in her plea deal.

According to the Milwaukee County Coroner’s Office, Sandifer drove his minivan through a red light and crashed into another vehicle and a pole at an estimated speed of 80 mph. Assistant District Attorney Sarah Sadowski said Sandifer’s blood alcohol level at the time of the crash was 0.167, more than twice the legal limit.

Relatives of the victims – a 1-year-old girl, two 15-year-old girls, a 17-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man – said Sandifer and the passenger had been at a party before the accident.
“Although you took responsibility in a sense, it’s not clear to me that you took full responsibility for the loss of five people,” Milwaukee County Judge David Swanson said.
Swanson said Sandifer has “significant rehabilitation needs.”
After completing his 25-year prison sentence, Sandifer will receive 15 years of extended supervision.

Sandifer suffered a collapsed lung and broken ribs in the crash, according to court records. Her sixth passenger, a 17-year-old girl, suffered serious injuries that threatened her life. According to police, a 32-year-old woman who was driving the car that was hit suffered serious injuries.
