“The Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider found love a year after his wife died of breast cancer.

On Wednesday’s “Grace Begins, The Podcast,” Schneider revealed that he’s in a new relationship after he was “ready to give it all up.”

“God sends widow to widow, and widow to widow; [gets] “Nobody can understand that, because I was ready to give up everything, everything,” he said.

John’s wife, Alicia Alan Schneider, passed away from breast cancer at age 53 after a four-year battle with the disease.

On the podcast, Schneider admitted that he didn’t think he’d have a second chance at love.

“Honestly, I didn’t want it. I was over it,” the actor said. “And if it hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t be here. There was no chance in the world for it.”

In December, Schneider spoke to Fox News Digital about his first Christmas away from his wife and how grief is a “weird thing.”

“Sadness sneaks up on you and hits you in the back of the head,” he said at the time. “It hits you when you least expect it, but it usually hits you when you’re having a good time.”

‘Dukes of Hazzard’ star John Schneider hopes the album he wrote to “honor” his late wife will help others who are grieving.

“It’s as if sadness is saying, ‘No, no, no, no, no. I’m not going to laugh today,'” Schneider added. “I’m not going to laugh today.”

“But the idea that grief will ever go away is ridiculous. Grief never goes away. It’s just something we learn to live with. And I’m learning. It’s not a lesson I wanted to learn. It’s not a skill I wanted to have. But it’s here, so I’m making the best of it.”

Alicia, a veteran producer and actress known for her roles in the 1991 films “Leather Jackets” and “Caged Fear,” as well as the 2002 film “Autofocus,” which she also produced, met Schneider in 2014 when she approached him about collaborating on a project.

The two began dating in 2015 and Indie Filmmaking Partners Alicia is also the founder of the production company Maven Entertainment and became Schneider’s manager before they married in 2019.

Schneider and Alicia continued to collaborate on film and music projects during her four-year battle with cancer. Patriotic film “To Die For” October 2022.

In 2019, Alicia was diagnosed with stage 4 HER2-negative cancer after a lesion was discovered during a routine dermatology exam. Dr Schneider revealed that Alicia’s cancer was in remission in 2020.

In 2021, it was discovered that Alicia’s cancer had returned and spread to her bones. She was transferred from the hospital to a hospice care facility in February 2023. Later that month, Schneider announced on Facebook that Alicia had died at her Louisiana home, surrounded by her family.

He released a tribute album titled “We’re Still Us” in November. That same month, Schneider also published “In the Driver’s Seat: Love, Loss & Living with No Regrets,” which he co-wrote with Alicia.

The book details the couple’s journey through Alicia’s battle with cancer and includes advice on being a proactive patient.
