A brain-deprived con artist who held a gun to a homeowner’s head in Jacksonville, Fla., tried to steal his car and fled on Thursday afternoon, was actually back at the same home a short time later. I confronted him. The owner of the house again.
As you can imagine, this time the victim was ready. One could say that the suspect was lucky to be alive.
what happened?
police told WJXT TV A K-9 officer attempted a traffic stop on Spring Lake Drive regarding a vehicle believed to be stolen in Suwanee County.
However, the 30-year-old man kicked the woman out of the car and fled, the sergeant said. Karen Dukes of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office called police. Police told WJXT that the woman is cooperating with investigators, that she may be the victim of a crime, and that she did not know the vehicle was stolen.
Police say the man who fled abandoned his car near Justin Road West and fled to a home on Oxbow Road near Harron Road, where a home invasion occurred.
Police said a man entered a home through the garage, pointed a gun at the homeowner’s head and attempted a carjacking before fleeing.
However, the man returned to the residence and approached the homeowner again, according to police.
But this time, the homeowner was armed, WJXT added.
Dukes told police that the homeowner “expressed fear and told him to stay away, but the suspect continued to advance toward him.” According to WJXT, the homeowner shot the man in the leg.
Police said the suspect was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“It’s very shocking.”
Neighbor KP Lancaster told WJXT the incident was “very shocking” because violent crime is virtually non-existent in the area.
Lancaster told the station, adding, “I heard gunshots and I heard people going in all directions trying to find him.”
WJXT said the homeowner is cooperating with police and police are investigating whether the homeowner’s actions were justified.
