Jasper, a large mixed-use project under construction on the Hunters Point waterfront, has made a big splash on the retail portion.
Gourmet grocery store Dumbo Market, currently operating as Urban Market in a building across the street, has signed a lease for a 13,500-square-foot store on the ground floor of Jasper.
Because Dumbo Market will be run by the same team as its successor, Urban’s, it is expected to open in early 2025, when the $370 million project’s rental apartments open, with twice the space of its predecessor.
Jasper’s development team is comprised of Domain Company, LMDX (an affiliate of L+M Development Partners), Volea Group, and Bridge Investment Group.
The completed project aims to be a “holistic environment” with 499 apartments, 150 of which will be reserved for people earning 130% of the area median income.
Tenants have access to a pool, fitness equipment, classes, and a beautiful courtyard.
Dumbo Market has two other locations in Brooklyn and will soon add one in Hoboken.
