SoCal Welcomes Dutch Bros Coffee

The popular coffee chain Dutch Bros Coffee is set to make its mark in Southern California with a new drive-thru location in the Los Angeles area. This news was shared by the city of Lomita on Wednesday, although they didn’t specify when the opening would take place.

According to the city’s announcement, the new coffee shop will be located at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Cypress Street. It will feature a three-lane drive-thru, along with a drive-thru window and a walk-up window. While there might be concerns about traffic and construction management, officials say Dutch Bros has been proactive in addressing these issues. The brand is known for generating long lines of cars, reminiscent of the beloved local favorite, In-N-Out Burger.

Residents in the area seemed pleased with the news. One local expressed relief, stating, “I’m so glad I don’t have to drive to OC anymore.” Another user chimed in, “Omg finally a close location,” while another excitedly exclaimed, “SHUT UP!!! NEAR MY WORK.”

Founded by brothers Travis and Dane Boersma in Oregon back in 1992, Dutch Bros is famous for its customizable and often large-sized specialty drinks. The chain, now based in Tempe, Arizona, opened its first Los Angeles outlet near the USC campus on S. Figueroa St. in November 2025.

Regional operator Brady Benner expressed gratitude for the ability to bring Dutch Bros Coffee to Los Angeles, stating, “Bringing this location to the Exposition Park and the greater Los Angeles community means we will have a space to bring love and light to each person we meet every day. We can’t wait to serve you L.A.”

Since going public in 2021, Dutch Bros has expanded to over 1,200 locations across the United States, with California being its largest market, boasting 255 locations statewide. Alongside its drive-thru spots, the company also offers retail coffee products.
