‘Dutton Ranch’ Trailer: Are Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler Facing Competition from Annette Bening's Rival Ranch Owner?

New Series: Dutton Ranch Set for May Premier

In the latest drama series from Paramount+, Dutton Ranch, fans of Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) will get a fresh glimpse into the couple’s lives as they seek to start anew in Rio Paloma, Texas. The world premiere of the first two episodes is set for May 15th.

The spin-off explores their struggles in establishing their ranch while facing unexpected hurdles and formidable adversaries. The trailer kicks off with Beth and Rip surveying their newly acquired land, where Rip reminisces about Montana: “I miss waking up in the morning and going to the mountains.” Beth seeks assurance, asking, “Life here will be fine, right?” to which Rip confidently responds, “It’s going to work out.” Yet, just moments later, the mood shifts dramatically as Rip stumbles upon a dead body on the property.

Next, we see Beth face off with the intimidating rival rancher Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening). “You bought the Edwards ranch,” Beulah states ominously. Beth is unfazed, responding, “We’re at the Dutton Ranch.” The tension builds as Beulah’s frosty demeanor is palpable. Shortly after, we see Beth interacting with the local veterinarian, Everett McKinney (Ed Harris). Everett offers a pointed remark about Beulah: “You met Miss Rio Paloma herself. She has an acquired taste.”

A scene unfolds between Beulah and Beth, where Beulah asserts, “My ranch has been around for 190 years, and I’ve worked hard to protect it.” Following this, a montage showcases Beulah flirting with Rip at a rodeo. “Rip and Beth have secrets, and secrets can be helpful or corrupt,” she observes, speaking to ranch manager Rob Will (Jai Courtney).

In another notable moment, Rob is seen driving a truck engulfed in flames while Rip and Beth observe the devastation. “No one will understand what we did to protect this ranch. No one will know what we will do to continue to protect this ranch,” Rob ominously tells an off-screen character.

The action intensifies as Rip speaks to his associates, Zacharias (Marc Menchaca) and Azul (JR Villarreal), with Beth present. “If either of us wants to walk, I won’t object,” Rip declares, preparing for conflict. Azul and Beth both stand firm in their support for Rip, prompting him to load his shotgun.

What follows is a gripping montage filled with high-stakes action: gunfights, bodies being removed, medevac helicopters, explosions, and even the fierce roar of a cheetah. The trailer wraps up with a reflective conversation between Rip and Beth. “I wanted peace,” Beth says, to which Rip replies, “You can’t chase peace. You have to live peace.” Finally, Beth concludes, “Then we must wait for peace.”

Dutton Ranch premieres on Paramount+ on May 15th.
