Dylan Mulvaney Cast in ‘Six’ Musical

Dylan Mulvaney, the transgender influencer who found herself at the center of a significant backlash regarding Bud Light in 2023, is set to make her Broadway debut. She will portray Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII, in the musical “Six.” This announcement comes over two years following her controversial partnership with Bud Light, which led to a nationwide boycott and a sharp decline in the brand’s sales.

“We’re excited to welcome our newest Anne Boleyn! Please show some love to Queen Dylan Mulvaney, joining the cast of #SIXBroadway starting February 16th!” the musical’s official X account shared on Friday.

“Six” tells the stories of Henry VIII’s six wives through a modern pop lens. Many of these women faced severe fates, like execution or divorce, and the show allows them to reclaim their identities, stepping out from the shadows of their famous husbands.

The casting decision has stirred up a fair amount of discussion online, particularly as “Six” is celebrated for its focus on women’s historical experiences.

Characterized by its feminist pop style, the musical emphasizes female empowerment. It won the Tony Award for Best Original Score in 2022, highlighting its commitment to an all-female ensemble.

Mulvaney rose to fame in April 2023 when she shared a video showing Bud Light sending beer cartons with her face on them. This collaboration marked her first full year of transitioning as a woman.

Despite the backlash that followed, which saw Bud Light’s sales drop nearly 30% in the months after the campaign, the incident has been a significant point of discussion regarding corporate culture.

Later, Mulvaney appeared on “The View” in March 2025, where she defended her partnership with Bud Light, expressing her love for beer and insisting she wasn’t overthinking the situation when she signed the deal. She also criticized the rollback of transgender-related policies during the Trump administration.

“No matter what my passport said, it didn’t change the way I thought about myself because I’m a woman,” she remarked, touching on the State Department’s decision to stop issuing gender-neutral passports.
