Dyson Daniels and Mitchell Robinson both sent off in Game 6 between Knicks and Hawks

In Game 6 of the playoff series between the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks, tempers flared as the Knicks surged to an unexpected 50-point lead in the first half.

Things escalated when Knicks center Mitchell Robinson and Hawks guard Dyson Daniels were ejected after receiving two technical fouls in the second quarter. This confrontation sparked a physical exchange, and at one point, a referee fell hard on the court trying to intervene.

Despite the chaos, the Knicks dominated with a staggering 72-22 score, essentially shutting down the Hawks. A moment occurred when Robinson and Daniels faced off during a free throw, and what started as a simple encounter quickly turned aggressive.

As one official attempted to calm the situation, he lost his balance, crashing into the hardwood. Robinson and Daniels continued to engage, each trying to get close to the other while coaches and officials struggled to defuse the growing tension.

Following their return to the benches, Robinson and Daniels were ultimately expelled after a review revealed that Daniels had elbowed Robinson. Their early departures left both teams in a challenging situation.

The Knicks entered this crucial game focused on advancing to the second round of the playoffs, but they likely couldn’t have anticipated such a commanding first-half performance. By halftime, they led 83-36, while the Hawks struggled with a mere 31% shooting and racked up 14 turnovers.

Knicks player OG Anunoby was particularly impressive, scoring 26 points in the first half—more than the entire Hawks team managed at one point. He also grabbed seven rebounds and had two assists, making his presence felt on both ends of the court.

As the game progressed into the third quarter, the prospects seemed dim for the Hawks, and if they couldn’t turn things around, frustration could escalate further.
