Throughout Carroll’s testimony in which she said, “I’m here because Donald Trump assaulted me…he lied and it shattered my reputation,” Trump loudly complained about the case. Trump’s audible grumbling caused Carroll’s legal team to argue that the ex president was being loud enough for the jury to potentially hear his remarks.

During yesterday's trial, Donald Trump showed no signs of holding back his emotional outbursts as E. J. Carroll testified.

Victoria Bekiempis, who was in court, reported in the Guardian newspaper:

As Carroll spoke, Trump audibly complained and appeared to double down on his denial of defamation, her lawyer said during a morning break in the proceedings.

“Mr. Trump sat at a table behind Mr. Carroll throughout her testimony and was yelling,” attorney Sean Crowley said.

“That's loud enough for us to hear,” Crowley said, “so I think it's loud enough for the jury to hear.”

“I would like to ask Mr. Trump to take special care to keep his voice low when meeting with his lawyers so that the jury cannot overhear,” Judge Lewis Kaplan said before the court resumed after a break. I warned you.

Mr. Trump did not follow Mr. Kaplan's instructions, and Mr. Crowley brought up his comments again before the lunch break.

“The defendant is giving statements again.” [that] We can be heard in the defense room,” Crowley said.

“He called it a 'witch hunt,' but it's actually a scam.”

“This whole story is a hoax and a disgusting hoax! Like all the now completely discredited Russia, Russia, Russian hoaxes and everything else, this case also goes to her lawyer (whom I just lost in another fraud case). It is conceived, funded, and executed by Democratic political operatives like her lawyer (who I just won another fraud case!). Conceived, funded and executed by…”

EJ Carroll is scheduled to testify again on Thursday as part of the civil libel trial against Donald Trump.
