Trump’s Message to March for Life Participants
WASHINGTON—In a video addressed to those attending the 53rd March for Life, President Donald Trump emphasized that the effort to foster a culture that values life is ongoing.
The president’s remarks were displayed on a massive screen, prompting applause from the crowd.
“As we approach 2026, marking 250 years since our Founding Fathers acknowledged the right to life in the Declaration of Independence, I extend my gratitude to everyone standing up for the unborn today, even in this chilly weather,” he stated.
He recalled being the first sitting president to attend the march in person six years ago and expressed pride in the progress made to protect innocent lives and bolster families since then.
Trump highlighted the Supreme Court’s ruling in the 2022 case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which reversed the longstanding Roe v. Wade decision, shifting the matter of abortion to state control. This, he said, was facilitated by his appointment of three justices during his tenure.
“During my first term, I had the privilege of appointing judges who adhere to a strict interpretation of the Constitution, which was a significant achievement. It gave the pro-life movement one of its greatest victories,” he remarked.
The president noted that efforts to nurture a life-affirming culture are active across every state and community, asserting that this battle extends beyond politics, reaching into the hearts of individuals.
He also discussed initiatives from his administration aimed at supporting faith, families, and foster children.
“We are ardent defenders of religious freedom under my administration. We are reclaiming our faith in America, and we’ve ceased forced taxpayer funding for abortion both at home and abroad.”
Trump mentioned support for faith-based adoption and foster care, along with a $1,000 investment for each newborn, growable over time, through an initiative he referred to as the One Big Beautiful Act.
Eligible infants, born from 2025 to 2028, will receive this seed investment from the U.S. Treasury.
“With your continued support, we will stand firm for the belief that every child is a gift from God. Thank you, and God bless America,” he concluded.
This speech followed Trump’s earlier announcement regarding the National Life Theocracy Day in 2026.
In his presidential message, he stated, “Today, we uphold the truth that every human being is created in the image of God, endowed with infinite worth. We honor those who protect the vulnerable, including those who attended the March for Life in D.C. As President, I commit to being a voice for the voiceless, fighting to maintain the dignity of every child, born or unborn.”
He urged Americans to recognize the dignity of every life and to support women facing unplanned pregnancies while also fostering adoption and care, emphasizing the need for loving homes for all children.
Vice President J.D. Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) also addressed attendees at the event.
