Nine straight wins won't be enough to cure the on-again, off-again drama that has engulfed the Eagles for the better part of the past two seasons.
Brandon Graham — the team's longest-tenured player and captain, currently on injured reserve with a torn triceps — said 94WIP The relationship between quarterback Jalen Hurts and star receiver AJ Brown has reportedly deteriorated in recent weeks.
“That person is [A.J. Brown] It's a complaint that requires responsibility. And I'll just be honest, you know what I'm saying. And he seems to know that,” Graham said. “I don’t know the whole story, but I know it.” [Jalen Hurts] I'm trying, that is. [Brown] His reactions to things could be a little better.
“And they've been friends before, but things have changed. You never know what's going to happen in life, so I understand that, but on the business side, I don't want personal to get in the way of business.” That's what we have to improve on now, because we know it's a problem and everyone is aware of some things. It's unclear what happened that affected their relationship, but Graham added that she needed to “let go of the personal stuff.”
Graham later retracted those comments, saying they should have remained internal.
“I made a mistake and assumed it was something it wasn't.” Graham told ESPN's Tim McManus.. “I just want to win, so I don't want to use the media when we need to talk about something and when we can solve the problem ourselves. That's my bad point because I didn't add in a good way. .”
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, at the end of a difficult 2023 season, Brown was called a “locker room poison” by another teammate.
The Eagles had a notoriously broken locker room throughout the final stages of the season, collapsing after a 10-1 start and losing to the Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card Round.
To rebuild the team's camaraderie, Brown organized a team event in which all of the captains participated in an “escape room” activity where everyone had to gather together to find clues and get out of the room.
After the season, Fox Sports' Craig Carton pointed out that the Eagles were torn apart by a fracture that “would tear any group apart.”
Mr Carton added: “This is a really serious problem that cannot be solved.”
Brown ranks 56th in the league in total targets and 35th in the NFL in targets per game, but new running back Saquon Barkley has taken the reins as the star this season.
Barkley is on track to break the rushing record as the 11-2 Eagles reclaim the NFC East title.
