Eagles laugh at Commanders’ ‘hilarious’ attempt to stop tush push

PHILADELPHIA – The most dominant offensive play in football reached New Heights on Sunday when officials were tired of watching desperate flying linebackers.

The Eagles' trademark Tush Push was responsible for the most ridiculous moment of their 55-23 victory in the NFC Championship Game. commit intentional penalties;

To prevent the Eagles from extending a 34-23 fourth-quarter lead, linebacker Frankie Lube timed two snaps in a row, jumped over the offensive line and ran inside the 1-yard line. Collided into quarterback Jalen's pain.

Because he crossed the neutral zone before the snap, Lube was flagged for trespassing, but the half-distance penalty amounted to just inches.

“It was hilarious. I was laughing the whole time,” right guard Mekhi Becton said. “Some of their guys were up there screaming,” he said. Let's perform the play. ”Then when I ran it, I took it in the end zone. ”

I didn't think Luvu was that interesting.

“I don't know what it is,” Luv said. “I think they are [officials] I wanted him to score. I just stopped from there. ”

The Eagles scored two of their seven rushing touchdowns via “Tush Push.”

This play infuriates the defense as it results in a first down or touchdown over 80% of the time.

“You think he'll learn,” center Cam Jurgens said of Luv. “But he didn't.”

The NFL rulebook warns that “the defense may not commit consecutive or repeated fouls to prevent a score or award a touchdown.”

“Simply put, a team cannot commit multiple fouls to prevent a score,” Hochuli explained to the media after the game.

The Commanders tested their limits with a more traditional offside when defensive tackle Jonathan Allen committed his third straight penalty by making contact with the offensive line.

Hochuli awarded no touchdowns, scoring when his team played on their fourth attempt at the snap.

“They had a lot of damn emotions and they were talking a lot,” Jurgens said.

Luvu was actually called for another offside inside the 5-yard line late in the game.

Shipley followed with a 2-yard touchdown run instead of a tush push.

“When you're in that vicinity, you have to go…take the shot,” said Commander Dan Quinn. “And that's what we're doing.”

The shooter is filming, right?

“I was trying to jump over it,” Luv said. “The mindset I came in with was I was going to take the shot. If I make it, I'll make it. If I don't, I'll bounce back.”

Next season, maybe.
