The Eagles took a turn for the worse at the end of last season, and a report has been released that explains some of the reasons why.
According to NFL reporter Derrick Gunn:Nick Sirianni was suspended from the sideline after Eagles security chief “Big Dom” DiSandro got into an altercation with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw on Dec. 3. I had many arguments with the staff and players. .
DiSandro, the team’s chief security officer and senior advisor to the general manager, was memorably ejected along with Greenlaw during San Francisco’s 42-19 win.
Coincidence or not, the Eagles struggled late in the regular season without DiSandro on the sideline, going 1-5 with losses to the struggling Cardinals and Giants.
DiSandro was allowed to return to the field for the Eagles’ wild-card round game against the Buccaneers, but things didn’t improve as Philadelphia lost 32-9 on the road.
In January, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that DiSandro is the team’s “fixer.”and the players missed his presence during games.
“Honestly, I didn’t really realize how important he played on our team until he was gone,” left tackle Jordan Mailata told the magazine. “And it’s something like, [expletive]. We haven’t carried out any executions since he was gone.we are getting [expletive] Beat after he was gone. So maybe he was just a little bit of good juju.
“So I think it’s a positive vibe, dude. Believe it or not, he’s actually a very positive person, especially on game days. So it’s great to have him back,” he said. For sure. Just the energy. The energy we needed.”
Even after starting the season 10-1, the Eagles were “miserable,” according to the Inquirer.
Replacing the defensive play-calling role from Sean Desai to Matt Patricia did little to help a struggling team, and a major overhaul this offseason saw the team take over the defensive coordinator job. hired former Dolphins coach Vic Fangio.

They also added Kellen Moore as a new offensive coordinator.
But it remains to be seen whether these coaches will have as much influence as “Big Dom.”
Gunn’s report comes after FS1’s Craig Carton claimed the Eagles had “really serious problems that they can’t solve,” which ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter downplayed.
