The Ravens traded two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander to Philadelphia on Saturday, as confirmed by the Eagles.
Baltimore sent Alexander along with a seventh-round pick in 2027 to the Eagles, and in return, they received a sixth-round pick for 2026.
After signing a one-year deal worth $6 million with the Ravens in June, Alexander only participated in two games this season.
Before joining the Ravens, Alexander had an impressive eight-season stint with the Packers. He was drafted as the 18th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
In his time at Green Bay, Alexander made the Pro Bowl twice—in 2020 and 2022—and earned second-team All-Pro honors during the latter year.
The Eagles are actively seeking to bolster their defense as the season progresses, having plans to acquire Jets cornerback Michael Carter II on Wednesday.
This trade happened right after the Ravens achieved a surprise 28-6 victory against the Dolphins on Thursday, bringing their record to 3-5 for the season. Just a week prior, they defeated the Bears, marking their second win in a row.
Interestingly, this win streak follows a tough four-game losing streak, with two of those games played without star quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was dealing with a hamstring injury.
During Jackson’s recovery, the Ravens drew attention for mistakenly listing him as a “full participant” in practice before their Week 8 win, even though he was only practicing with the scout team.
As a result, the league fined Baltimore $100,000, citing the team’s “negligence,” but clarifying that there was no intention to gain a competitive edge. This information came from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Baltimore admitted to the mistake, stating it was important for them to uphold integrity and adhere to NFL guidelines. They acknowledged their error in reporting player injuries and cooperated fully during the investigation.
“We accept the NFL’s determination that we violated policy and have taken steps to ensure continued compliance,” they added in their response.
