Eagles players ignoring criticism of Nick Sirianni

Focus on Nick Sirianni as Eagles’ Future Hangs in the Balance

San Francisco – Nick Sirianni, head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, finds himself under scrutiny as the team seeks to make it to the Super Bowl. After a lackluster 2023 season, where they did win a Super Bowl, there were whispers last year about his job security.

Yet, the current season tells a different story. The Eagles have struggled, leading to the dismissal of offensive coordinator Kevin Pattullo after just one year on the job.

Despite the criticism surrounding him, Sirianni seems to have the support of his players. Cooper Dezeen shared his thoughts with FOX News Digital, emphasizing the need to focus on the work rather than the media noise. He mentioned, “We play in a city that gets a lot of media coverage. Some good, some bad. Probably more bad than good. We’ve got to find something good to write about. Let’s block out the outside noise and go to work.”

Although he might come across as serious on-screen, Dejean noted that Sirianni is “one of the guys,” adding that he’s a pleasure to be around. Reid Blankenship echoed this sentiment, explaining that Sirianni listens to players and maintains a calm demeanor, which is perhaps surprising to outsiders.

Statistically, this season has not been favorable for the Eagles, ranking 23rd in yards and 19th in points per game, a sharp decline from last year’s eighth and seventh place finishes. There have also been rumors of tension between Sirianni and star receiver AJ Brown, highlighted by a heated exchange following a dropped pass during their playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers last month.

Looking at the team’s recent history, the Eagles have had a pattern of Super Bowl appearances followed by early exits. They are at a crossroads—if they falter again, the local media may respond harshly.
