Eagles’ Saquon Barkley shares thoughts on Giants fans booing him in return: ‘Stuff you live for’

When Saquon Barkley returned to the field he first called home as a Philadelphia Eagle, he never expected to be booed by a MetLife Stadium crowd filled with New York Giants fans.

But when he touched the ball Sunday, that was all he heard. But the team was further silenced when he scored a touchdown in a 28-3 rout and ripped through the Giants' defense with 176 rushing yards, the most in his Eagles career to date. Philadelphia victory.

Barkley said he doesn't consider this a revenge game because it was against the team he spent his first six seasons in the NFL with before signing with a former NFC East rival.

But after a hugely successful first game against the Giants, Fox Sports' Christina Pink asked Barkley what it was like running through New York on Sunday. Berkeley took the high road.

“After all, we won,” he replied. “That's the most important thing. Shout out to the big boys up front and the tight ends. They've been up front and done things for me.”

“It feels good to go out here trying to win the division. That's always important. Now we move on to the next game.”

However, Berkeley says that this atmosphere is what helped him grow.

Despite the crowd's reaction to his return to North Jersey, Barkley addressed how his former teammates view his situation leaving the Giants for the Eagles.

“It's nice to meet them,” he said. “You know, the media makes it more than what it is. There was no hate in my heart. Over there, they felt no hate against me. This is all love. , business. Please understand, they told me to go somewhere else and find somewhere else.
