Ed Kelse is feeling the weight of loss after his girlfriend, Maureen Maguire, passed away at 74. It’s clear—he’s missing her deeply.
A source mentioned, “There’s a significant void.” This sentiment was shared regarding Ed, the father of NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelse.
“…Maureen wasn’t only his partner; she was truly his person.”
Ed announced Maureen’s death on his Facebook over the weekend, linking to her obituary where it stated she “died peacefully surrounded by loved ones,” as per a funeral home in Pennsylvania.
The obituary expressed her love for life’s simple pleasures, especially the beach, and her cherished dogs.
In her later years, she enjoyed serene moments with family in Cape May, even developing an unexpected fondness for football, creating many memorable experiences with Ed and her loyal dog Butch.
There was a special moment with Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, that Ed fondly recalled during an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 2024. A playful moment transpired when Maureen jokingly inserted, “Hey, that’s my boyfriend,” as they posed for a photo.
In family photos, they proudly wore Chiefs gear next to Ed and Maureen’s son Travis’ jersey.
Ed shares his sons, Jason and Travis, with his ex-wife Donna, from whom he parted ways after nearly 25 years of marriage, reportedly after the boys’ graduation from college.
The family has been active in supporting Travis and the Chiefs, and they often reunited for game days—Jason even played for the Eagles until his retirement in March 2024.
Just this past February, they ventured to New Orleans where the Chiefs faced a tough loss against the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025, ending 40-22.
As Travis gears up for his 13th NFL season, the Chiefs are set to go up against the Chargers in Brazil on September 5th.
