Ed O’Neill misses ‘Modern Family’ money

The Dunphys and Pritchetts reunited at the 2024 SAG Awards.

The cast of “Modern Family,” including Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Ed O’Neal, appeared Saturday to present the Best Ensemble Comedy Award. They came together and surprised the viewers.

Bowen spoke first, reminding the star-studded audience about the ABC show’s 11 seasons and 250 episodes, which ended in 2020.

Still, Vergara turned the conversation to her new Netflix show, “Griselda.”

“Hey, Jesse, pay up,” Stonestreet told Ferguson. “I said she would talk about it in the first 10 seconds.”

Returning to Modern Family, O’Neal said, “I don’t want to get emotional here, but you know what I miss most about this show?”

“Do you go to work every day?” Burrell answered.

“I don’t have any money,” O’Neal joked candidly.

Ferguson asked, talking about his lackluster life after the sitcom ended. “Is it too early to talk about a reboot? They parked me a mile away from here.”

Stonestreet, a former Kansas City Chiefs and avid Chiefs fan, interjected, “I know Travis Kelce!”

“Now I can FaceTime him. Things are really great for me because I’m serious,” he added sarcastically about access to Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.

“Modern Family” wasn’t the only popular cast member to reunite at SAG. The Devil Wears Prada co-stars Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep, and Anne Hathaway also reunited on stage.
