Eight Mexicans Wanted for Murder, Drug-Trafficking Apprehended

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kash Patel, announced Friday that the agency has detained eight men from Mexico in the United States this week on murder and drug trafficking charges. The two were former FBI fugitives.

“The FBI and our partners will scrutinise the edge of the planet to bring terrorists and cartel members to justice,” Patel said in a statement. “The days of hurting Americans and walking freely are over.”

The eight men included Rafael Caroquintero, a former FBI fugitive who claimed in 1985 that he was suspected of being involved in the murder and the donation and murder of Special Agent Enrique Camarena Salazar of the Drug Enforcement Bureau (DEA). The FBI said:

Caro -Quintero is widely regarded as one of the Mexican godfathers of drug trafficking, and helped form the Guadalajara cartel in the late 1970s. He reportedly became one of the leading suppliers of heroin, cocaine and marijuana to the United States, overseeing the cartels at the border between Costa Rica and the US and Mexico.

The lawsuit will be investigated by the FBI San Antonio Field Office, and Quintero will be charged in the Eastern District of New York.

Marine Sotero has also been arrested, facing the murder charges related to August 11, 2022 and facing the murder of Deputy Ned Byrd, Wake County law enforcement officer of the North Carolina Sheriff's Office. Marine Sotero was charged with first-degree murder on August 23, 2022.

The lawsuit will be investigated by the FBI Charlotte Field Office, where Sotero faces federal weapons accusations in the Central District of North Carolina and state murder charges in North Carolina Court.

Jose Rodolfo Villarreal Harnandez, also known as “Elgato,” is another 10 former FBI fugitives arrested. According to the FBI, he is responsible for stalking and coordinating the murder of a 43-year-old male victim on May 22, 2013 in South Lake, Texas.

Villarreal-Hernandez is believed to have previously established a high-level position in the Beltran-Leyva Organization (BLO) drug cartel, overseeing the import of large quantities of cocaine into the United States, and committed violent acts to maintain the power and status of his organization in the Republic of Mexico and within the United States. He was arrested on January 7, 2023 in Atizapan de Zaragoza, Mexico.

This case was investigated by the FBI Dallas Field Office. Villarreal-Hernandez is accused of conspiracy to commit interstate stalkers and employers in the Northern Texas district.

According to the FBI, Jose Angel Canobubio Insunza, also known as “Gerrito,” was the finance manager and finance manager of the Los Chapitos faction at the Sinaloa Cartel. He is said to have trafficked drugs, managed armed enforcement groups, and managed corrupt relationships on behalf of the cartel. He was arrested in Sinaloa last week by the Mexican troops.

The incident will be investigated by the FBI Washington and San Diego field offices and he will face accusations of withholding drugs from the Northern Illinois district.

According to the FBI, Rodolfo Lopez Ibarra is facing a life sentence drug trafficking charge from the District of Columbia. The incident was investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office.

Andrew Clark, a Canadian resident and resident of Mexico, is said to have run and participated in a cross-border drug trafficking operation that shipped hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from Columbia through Mexico and Southern California, and elsewhere in the United States.

The incident was investigated by the FBI Los Angeles field office. Clark is charged with four murders and one attempted murder, and is charged in the Central District of California.

Luis Geraldo Méndez Estevane faces several federal charges in the Western District of Texas, including murder, assault and drug conspiracy, according to the FBI. Mendes was a Barrio Aztec aide and on March 13, 2010, he was responsible for the murder of two US consulate employees in Ciudad Juarez of Mexico and for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office detention officer.

The incident was investigated by the FBI El Paso Field Office. Mendes was charged in the Western District of Texas.

Vicente Carl's former leader of the Juarez Cartel, faces a charge of narco traffic firing in the eastern region of New York. He is the head of drug trafficking to the United States and has supported serious violent crimes in Mexico's Chiudad Juarez and El Paso, Texas, the FBI said.

The incident was investigated by the FBI El Paso Field Office.
