Cincinnati Street Brawl Leads to Eighth Indictment

An eighth individual has reportedly been indicted in connection with a violent street altercation that occurred last month in Cincinnati, Ohio, where multiple people sustained injuries, according to the police. This newly charged, a 45-year-old white man whose identity has not been disclosed, faces charges of disorderly conduct. This marks his fourth misdemeanor charge linked to the brawl that took place on July 26 in downtown Cincinnati.

Interestingly, police also regard him as a victim in this incident, which, under Mercy’s laws, keeps his name from being publicly released.

The brawl erupted early in the morning at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Elm Avenue, and the footage quickly made its rounds, generating significant buzz.

On August 26, he is scheduled to appear in court.

Last week, the seventh suspect, 32-year-old Gregory Wright, was charged with aggravated riot and aggravated robbery. Authorities allege that during the altercation, Wright forcibly took a necklace from a victim while recording the event on his phone. Six other defendants had already been charged earlier this month in connection with their involvement in the violent episode.

These defendants include Patrick Rosemond, 38; Jermaine Matthews, 39; Montian Meriweather, 34; Dekira Vernon, 24; Dominique Kittle, 37; and Aisha Devaughn, 25. They face multiple felony charges related to their participation in the incident.

The events from that night are a sobering reminder of how quickly things can escalate. Video clips display the chaos and, disappointingly, some individuals throwing out racial slurs amidst the violence.
