Eileen Davidson Sparks Controversy Over Charlie Kirk Comments
Former “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Eileen Davidson is facing backlash after her remarks regarding the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
“I don’t support what happened to Charlie Kirk, but Charlie Kirk was supporting what happened to Charlie Kirk,” Davidson, 66, stated in an Instagram post that has since been deleted. The post was shared with her 468,000 followers.
Following the negative reactions, she clarified her stance, saying, “No one will ever celebrate an assassination in a million years,” in a post on X.
Many commenters criticized Davidson, who is known for her award-winning roles in daytime soap operas. Some accused her of expressing contradictory views, with one remarking, “But you did, and then deleted it without realizing that the internet was forever.”
In response, Davidson defiantly stated, “I’m standing by my post, sweet,” indicating she did not regret her comments.
Her remarks seemed to reference comments made by Kirk, who, during the 2023 Turning Point USA Faith Event, discussed the costs associated with gun deaths. “Unfortunately, I think it’s expensive to die from a gun every year,” Kirk had remarked, claiming this was a “reasonable” take. Davidson later reposted various videos and images related to Kirk’s viewpoints, inciting further debate.
Some people supported her comments, while others felt she misjudged the seriousness of the topic. One user suggested that Davidson’s comments reflected a misunderstanding of reality, and another chimed in, “People know your heart.”
Davidson was a regular on “RHOBH” from seasons 5 to 7, leaving the show in 2017 but returning as a guest in later seasons.
Kirk had faced audience questions regarding mass shootings connected to transgender individuals when a gunshot interrupted his discussion at a September 10 event at Utah Valley University. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, reportedly shouted, “Hey Fascist! Catch!” before firing.
