Eileen Wang recognized as 'Woman of the Year'

Democrat Eileen Wang, a former mayor of a California city, recently resigned after acknowledging her role as an illegal agent for China. She was honored as Woman of the Year by U.S. Rep. Judy Chu for her efforts in community service and leadership.

Each year, Congresswoman Judy Chu bestows the “Female Representative of the Year” award to women in the San Gabriel Valley who’ve positively impacted their communities through various forms of service and organizing.

“Nominations came from those who know them best—neighbors, friends, and family who witness their contributions firsthand,” Councilman Chu commented.

In 2024, Wang was among ten women honored alongside Chu herself.

Despite winners undergoing a rigorous selection process, Wang’s hidden activities as an illegal foreign agent seem to have gone unnoticed.

Mr. Chu, campaigning for re-election in California’s 28th Congressional District, has now removed Wang from his official support page.

Wang was elected to the Arcadia City Council in November 2022, positioned in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County.

On Monday, it was revealed that Wang had admitted to working with Chinese authorities between 2020 and 2022, enhancing propaganda efforts through a website masquerading as a news source for Chinese Americans. She resigned from her mayorship as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Details in court documents indicate that Wang, 58, collaborated with her then-fiancée, Yaoning “Mike” Sun, on this project, which was actually executing directives from the Chinese government.
