McConnell, the longest-serving leader in U.S. history, announced this week that he would step down from his role as leader in November to give conservatives a chance to lead their own Senate Republican conference.
As Senate Republicans vie to take back the upper chamber of Congress this fall, conservatives are also looking to represent their interests in countering the agenda of President Joe Biden and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.). I’m looking for someone who will help me.
Staggs said. Breitbart News Saturday Host Matthew Boyle believes electing a conservative in Utah could give power to conservative insurgents in the Senate. He also believes that electing a Republican from Utah could help regain the Republican majority in the Senate.

Utah’s caucus system begins March 5th.
“This is very likely to be the deciding factor in regaining the majority, as Mitt Romney will flip this by voting more than 60 percent for Biden and once again claiming he supports Biden over President Trump. That’s incredible to me. It’s disgraceful for him to comment on something like that on behalf of our state,” he explained to Boyle.
He said this would ensure that a new “McConnell 2.0” does not become the next Republican leader in the Senate.
“I think we can come in and create what I’ve been saying is a ‘critical mass’ to flip the scale,” Staggs said. [of the Senate] And we’ll make sure that we don’t simply have another McConnell 2.0 and another Romney 2.0 in this seat or in this leadership. ”
