Election integrity group dishes out $50K to whistleblowers, 6-figure Olympics ad buy: ‘We’re watching’

A newly formed election monitoring nonprofit has begun paying tens of thousands of dollars in “bounties” to election whistleblowers as part of its own goal of promoting election integrity by encouraging whistleblowers to come forward.

The Fair Elections Fund Recently formed The Washington Post, a national election integrity watchdog group, announced this week that it would offer an initial $50,000 “bounty” to whistleblowers who directly report voter fraud or irregularities in four states, including North Carolina and Michigan.

The Fair Elections Fund was established earlier this year and has committed millions of dollars to promote election integrity by paying and protecting front-line whistleblowers who can identify problems at polling places and election offices.

The group said numerous whistleblowers from around the country have reported issues including receiving duplicate ballots, delayed ballots, incorrect mailing addresses, obstructing independent agencies from monitoring the count and receiving unclaimed ballots.

“The Fair Elections Fund is excited to see our incentives working and is learning more about the structural issues in our election system, but this is just the beginning,” Doug Collins, a former Georgia congressman and senior advisor to the Fair Elections Fund, said in a press release.

“Today, the Fair Elections Fund is sharing the stories of the brave whistleblowers who were the first to come forward to speak out about the irregularities they witnessed in our election process, and we are grateful for their contributions. We must shine a light on these irregularities and root out election fraud before Americans head to the polls in November.”

The group said in a press release that the “success” of its “initial bounty” demonstrates the group’s need to expand, and it plans to expand into key battleground states with six-figure digital ad buys during the Olympics.
