Election integrity advocates are targeting North Carolina Democrats who are trying to block ballot access for third-party candidates in an effort to boost President Biden’s struggling presidential campaign.
The Fair Elections Fund launched a $175,000 media offensive on Monday, including ads aimed at three Democrats on the North Carolina State Board of Elections who are plotting to block the candidacy of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West in North Carolina. The media buy includes digital ads, mobile billboards and 2D projections.
The group alleges that Alan Hirsch, Jefferson Carmon and Siobhan Millen are conspiring to block North Carolinians’ right to vote. The timely ad comes a week when the North Carolina State Board of Elections is reconsidering its decision to remove two third-party candidates from the ballot after three Democrats voted not to endorse West and Kennedy a few weeks ago. The three-judge panel overruled the committee’s two Republican members, even though both Kennedy and West had collected enough signatures to qualify for the ballot.
“Democrats know Joe Biden can’t run for president for another four years, but instead of telling the truth, they’re tipping the scales in Biden’s favor,” the ad’s narrator says, and the ad goes on to highlight multiple votes committee members made this election cycle to block two candidates and keep Biden out of the running at the ballot box.
Actions by Hirsch, Carmon and Millen highlighted by the Fair Elections Fund include:
- Hirsch and Mirren Both delayed the certification of No Labels as a political party in North Carolina.
- All three Democrats Voted To ensure Biden has no challengers in the North Carolina primary.
- Mirren Voted To pursue a lawsuit seeking to remove Trump from the ballot in North Carolina.

The media offensive comes in the aftermath of Biden’s disastrous debate performance, as millions of Americans grow increasingly concerned that Democrats and their media allies are not honestly challenging Biden’s alleged decline in performance. Democrats are rushing to support Biden as he falls further in the polls.
A senior adviser to the Fair Elections Fund said in a statement:
Democrats have known for a long time that Joe Biden is unfit to be president and lacks the cognitive and physical abilities to win reelection, but rather than admit the truth, they are pushing with all their might to bail him out by eliminating his competitors in key battleground states across the country. Alan Hirsch, Jefferson Carmon and Siobhan Millen should be ashamed of themselves for giving in to Biden’s allies and disenfranchising North Carolinians who made their support for Cornel West and RFK clear.
The official added, “Their attacks on our democratic process must be reversed, and we will continue to hold them accountable until they stop interfering in our election and confirm West and Kennedy.”
The Fair Elections Fund plans to spend more than $5 million in 2024 to expose fraud and abuse in our election system. It also established a Whistleblower Protection Fund that can offer compensation to those who expose wrongdoing.
