Elizabeth Hurley’s new relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus caught many off guard, though not her.
“Some people found it surprising that Billy and I are together,” the supermodel mentioned at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party.
“We actually look quite similar and it’s been great for us, so I’m not surprised,” she added, acknowledging the considerable buzz around their romance.
Harley, who hosted the event, highlighted their shared interests. “We both enjoy laughing and love this country,” she said about the country music superstar.
“There’s definitely a lot we have in common—films, music, you name it,” she explained.
At the charity event, Harley, 59, attended with her son, Damian, 23, turning heads in a striking pink dress featuring ruffles and high slits.
Pop icon Sting performed at the event, supporting breast cancer research, an initiative Harley has long been committed to.
“It was fantastic,” she said, referring to her role as a global ambassador for Estee Lauder’s Breast Cancer Campaign over the past three decades.
She mentioned feeling emotional during the event, adding that she often struggles to hold back tears when speaking onstage.
“Every time I step out, it’s really moving because so many here are affected by breast cancer, either through treatment or loss,” she remarked.
Harley first shared moments of her budding romance with Cyrus on April 20. Photos showed them enjoying Easter together at his Nashville home.
They later posted pictures of themselves riding off-road vehicles and kissing in a serene countryside setting.
Cyrus revealed their reconnection occurred after Harley reached out via text during his divorce from singer Fire Rose.
“It was a tough time, and I was grateful to have her supporting me,” Cyrus shared.
An insider previously noted that Harley had been anticipating romance for some time, suggesting she has a fondness for the cowboy vibe.
However, some of her friends, including Elton John, have been puzzled by this unexpected match. “They think it’s quite unusual,” a source mentioned.
Harley’s latest Instagram post hinted at reflections on her relationship, saying, “It’s been a wild few weeks, but here are some of my joyful memories.”
