Welcome to another Tuesday Screencaps and the official start of fall. Interestingly enough, it seems it’s not the most loved season in America. According to a YouGov poll from April, summer took the crown as the favorite season for 54% of respondents.
Fall placed third, with only 13% favoring it. I mean, it was April—surely people were longing for the warmth after a tough winter. But if we look back at a Gallup poll from 1947, spring was the top pick for 34%, with fall closely behind at 32%. Fast forward to 2005, and fall only had a 27% favorite rating.
Let’s be real, those pumpkin spice lattes have done a remarkable job selling the idea of fall, especially to suburban women. It’s quite the industry, raking in over $1.1 billion yearly. Yet, do people really love fall as much as they claim? Maybe not as much as the marketing tells us.
