Country music artist Ella Langley has canceled a concert due to what was described as a “serious security threat,” raising concerns for the safety of fans, staff, and her team, as she announced on Instagram.
Langley stated, “Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of my fans, the venue staff, and my team, the incredibly difficult decision was made to cancel tonight’s show. This decision was made under the advisement of local authorities, the venue, and my security team.” She emphasized that she didn’t want to risk anyone’s safety but didn’t specify the nature of the threat.
In her post, she expressed her regret, saying, “I know how much time, travel, money, and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can’t tell you how sorry I am. This is not a decision that was made lightly. I was so looking forward to spending tonight with you, but your safety will always mean more to me than anything else. I refuse to put anyone in harm’s way.”
The BOK Center, the venue for the concert, released a statement affirming that safety is their top priority. They acknowledged the disappointment of canceling the show and apologized to fans. Ticket refunds and further information regarding the cancellation would be provided soon, according to their Instagram account.
The Tulsa Police Department also updated the public, explaining that they had conducted a thorough security sweep ahead of the event but found no immediate threats. However, they mentioned that a call had targeted the lives of attendees, prompting precautions. After reassuring the artists’ staff that the venue was secure, Langley and her team still chose to cancel the concert.
The police concluded that the incident is under investigation. Ella Langley is currently on her Dandelion Tour, promoting her second studio album, “Dandelion,” which kicked off earlier this year.
