On Thursday, Elon Musk claimed that his latest version of the generator AI, Grok 3, will “outperform” all rival chatbots and be released by the end of this month.
The billionaire launched artificial intelligence startup Xai in 2023 and launched Grok as a direct competitor to Openai's ChatGpt.
“The Grok 3 has such strong reasoning capabilities, so in all the tests I've done, the Grok 3 is better than anything that was released: an address to the World Government Summit in Dubai.
Musk calls the Grok 3 “Scary-Smart” and says the bots were able to come up with “unobvious solutions” people didn't expect.
“We think it's better than anything else, and maybe this is the last time AI is better than Grok,” he continued.
Musk co-founded with CEO Sam Altman in 2015, but later had a relationship with the company in 2018, and was later caught up in a legal battle with AI rivals.
On Monday, a group of investors led by Musk issued a shocking $97.4 billion offer to buy Openai's nonprofit assets in an attempt to stop the company from moving towards a for-profit structure. He said that.
Musk, who also runs Tesla, SpaceX and social media platform X, sued Altman and others in August, asking US district judges to block Openai's switch to commercial structure.
“I think there's evidence that Openai has reached it so far, playing at least a kind of dual profit, non-profit role,” Musk said Thursday. “What they're trying to do now is to remove nonprofits completely, and that seems to be really going too far.”
Altman immediately shot down the offer and apparently laughed at the $44 billion price he paid for X, known as Twitter in 2022.
“Thank you, but I'll buy Twitter for $9.74 billion if necessary.” Altman wrote in X's post.
During the video call, Musk also discussed his position as a runner of the so-called Government Efficiency Bureau, a newly created task force aimed at reducing federal spending.
On Thursday, he claimed that Doge could cut government spending by more than $1 trillion.
“Maybe the economy could potentially grow at 4-5% in terms of production of actual useful goods and services, with government spending being around 3% or 4% of the economy, or about 1 trillion. You can reduce your net worth over the dollar. That would be very noteworthy as the effect is not inflation from 2025 to 2026,” Musk said.
Speaking about international affairs, Musk told the Dubai audience that the US has been “forced” in the past and should “care about your business.”
“In general, I think you should leave other countries to your business,” he said.
His comments come as President Trump continues to float his controversial redevelopment plans for Gaza.
Omar Al Orama, Minister of Artificial Intelligence for the United Arab Emirates, interviewed Musk during the meeting, but compared to wormholes, the United Arab Emirates and Musk's rapid transport system was to bring Musk underground. He said they will partner with the Dubai Loop.
