Federal workers don't need to answer the emails hired by Elon Musk, outlining what they did at work last week, despite announcements that the government's Department of Efficiency would be equivalent to resignation if they didn't.
Personnel Management (OPM) officials have said that, according to sources familiar with the situation, the response to emails is “voluntary” and that the response to emails is “voluntary.” We have notified the institution's personnel boss.
OPM also directed multiple HR departments that not replying to emails does not mean auto-termination despite warnings from Tesla and SpaceX bosses.
Several government agencies and departments had instructed employees not to reply to emails requesting employees a list of five bullet points detailing what they have achieved in the past five business days.
President Trump defended Musk's efforts before OPM guidance was distributed.
