The “Rocketman” artist first discussed his health battle in September.
“Over the summer, I dealt with serious eye infections that regrettably resulted in limited vision in one eye,” he stated on social media. “I’m on the mend, but the recovery is very gradual, and it takes time for my eyes to heal properly.”
The artist further mentioned: “I’ve been quietly recuperating at home during the summers. I feel optimistic about my healing and the progress I’ve made thus far.”

In November interviewsGood Morning America., John mentioned that his infection originated during the summer in Southern France.
“It’s been four months now where I couldn’t see, but my left eye isn’t the most impaired,” he noted.
“There’s hope that it will be alright, but I’m somewhat limited right now because while I can manage little tasks like this, when I go to the studio and try to record, I struggle,” John detailed, stating that reading the lyrics has become difficult.
“It felt a bit devastating,” he added. “I can’t see anything. I can’t read anything. I can’t see anything.”
On Friday, John released a new album with Brandi Carlile, titled “Who Believes in Angels.”

John’s kids are not the only individuals worried about him being present for significant life moments. The singer expressed the desire to “be around forever,” though he understands the reality of life.
“I want to witness them having children and tying the knot. I don’t believe they will be there for that. Who knows? “The moments spent together are incredible and deeply precious.”
